Students from Tecumseh Middle School are bringing home a gift for Mother's Day!
Nearly every student from TMS started to grow sunflowers for this project, and they are taking them home today.
What's great about this is that the seeds for the sunflowers are coming from our garden at TMS. The garden project was started by teacher Joe Bundas. (previous story about the garden project: https://www.tps.k12.mi.us/article/554563)
So, what was the total cost for this project? Just $50. Several teachers have pitched in, helping with supplies and more. The City of Tecumseh has also been kind enough to donate mulch for the garden.
The garden project is self-funded and was originally designed and built by students.
The garden isn't just a teaching tool for students, it's being used to help give back. The staff and students have donated food to local families over the years.
