January is School Board Recognition Month, a time to recognize the work of our volunteer school board members and to celebrate public education. Tecumseh Public Schools is joining more than 540 districts throughout Michigan to acknowledge the important contributions school board members make to their communities.
In a year full of challenges for public education not seen in recent history, school board members persevered through the adversity of 2020 to provide the best possible education for students.
School boards are charged with making decisions that can sometimes be quite difficult. They contribute hundreds of hours each year leading their respective districts.
Here at TPS, school board members are responsible for an annual budget of nearly $29,000,000, over 2,500 students, 500+ staff/contracted staff and six buildings.
Even during a pandemic, these tireless servants are dedicated individuals who are committed to improving student achievement and to fight for what's best for all students.
On January 11th, we welcome new members to the TPS Board of Education.
