There was another game on Friday, February 2, during the halftime of the rivalry game between Tecumseh and Adrian boys basketball teams.
Rivalries were put aside as we hosted the Unified Basketball game between our Tecumseh athletes and Adrian’s. Unified Sports transcends differences by bringing together individuals with and without intellectual disabilities. This program fosters friendships and understanding through shared training and sports competitions.
The Unified program has been such a great experience. Our athletes enjoy participating in competitive athletics and everything that comes with that. Whether they were actively playing, assisting teammates in scoring, or cheering from the stands, the event provided an exhilarating and fulfilling experience for everyone involved.
Tecumseh Public Schools and Adrian Public Schools are dedicated to fostering unity and inclusivity through Unified Sports, a compelling narrative that highlights the celebration of our special needs students.
