This week, we’re highlighting someone who fosters a love of literature, critical thinking, and leadership—Rebecca Kiebler, English Teacher, Department Head, and Link Crew Coordinator at Tecumseh High School!
Meet Rebecca Kiebler
From engaging lessons in literature to mentoring students through Link Crew, Rebecca Kiebler is committed to shaping the academic and personal growth of her students. She believes in building strong connections and creating a positive school culture that supports students at every stage of their high school journey.
What do you enjoy most about working at TPS?
"What I love most about working at TPS is the staff and students. We have such a great student body, and I love getting to know my students each year. I also love the people I work with. Having such a supportive admin team and coworkers makes it easy to come in each day."
What’s one thing you wish people knew about the work you do?
"One thing I'd like to highlight is Link Crew, our freshman orientation program. It's so much more than just welcoming freshmen on the first day of school. Our student leaders work so hard to create meaningful connections with their crew that last all year long. This program creates a positive school culture, and it's one of the many things we can be proud of at Tecumseh."
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
"I love to hike with my dogs and travel. Some notable places I've hiked are Hocking Hills (my husband and I try to go each year), the four-day Inca Trail in Peru that leads to Machu Picchu, and the carriage trails in Acadia National Park, Maine. Unsurprisingly, I also love to read—it's one of my favorite hobbies, especially since I get to talk about so many different books with students on a daily basis."
