staff spotlight

At Tecumseh Public Schools, our students succeed because of the passionate and dedicated educators who challenge, support, and inspire them every day. Through our This is Us: Staff Spotlight series, we celebrate the individuals who make TPS a place where students thrive.

Today, we’re highlighting someone who helps students build confidence, independence, and lifelong skills: Madisyn Pelham, a Sutton Early Learning Center third-grade teacher!

Meet Madisyn Pelham

With a dedication to both academic and social-emotional growth, Madisyn creates a classroom environment where students feel supported and encouraged to achieve their best.

What do you enjoy most about working at TPS?
"What I enjoy most about being a teacher is seeing the growth and development of my students. It's incredibly rewarding to watch them gain confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve things they didn’t think were possible. I enjoy working with my third-grade team and the support they have given me to help me grow as a teacher, mom, and as a person."

What's one thing you wish people knew about the work you do?
"Teaching extends far beyond the classroom and truly is where we build life skills through critical thinking, independence, accountability, and self-advocacy. I love watching my students grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally. The ultimate goal of an educator is to create well-rounded individuals that can utilize these lifelong skills now and in the future."

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
"I love to camp, travel with my family, read, and spend time outdoors, whether on the lake or out playing with my kids and our dogs."

Madisyn, thank you for your dedication to helping students grow both in and out of the classroom. Your work inspires the next generation of lifelong learners!
