A student musician from Tecumseh Public Schools proudly represented the district during the Michigan Music Conference at the DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids.
Alyssa Eder, an 8th-grade student from Tecumseh Middle School, performed with the 2023 All-State Middle School Band on Saturday, January 21st.
Alyssa is a flutist. She earned her position through a blind audition process. Alyssa was accepted into the Michigan School Band Orchestra Association (MSBOA) Middle School All-State Band in December.
The conference was held January 19-21 and allowed students two and a half days of rehearsal with nationally recognized conductors before Saturday's performance.
This year, nearly 2,400 students auditioned for the conference. Out of all the students, Alyssa was just one of the 391 students accepted into the All-State ensembles.
Alyssa is a terrific student. When she’s not excelling in the classroom, she performs with the 8th Grade Band under the direction of Kellie McInchak.
Tecumseh Public Schools would like to congratulate Alyssa on this prestigious recognition.
