Five seniors graduating from Tecumseh High School were recently chosen for the Michigan Southeastern Conference (SEC) All-Academic Team. Ashley Bemis, Ethan Emerick, Bella Juozapaitis, Aidan Kennedy, and Seamus McCarley were honored at an awards luncheon on April 24th at Weber's in Ann Arbor for their exceptional performance in both Tecumseh High School athletics and academics.
The Michigan SEC comprises 14 schools in Washtenaw, Monroe, Lenawee, Jackson, and Livingston counties. Each school nominates five graduating student-athletes for the All-Academic Team each year. The selection process involves an algorithm considering SAT and M-STEP scores alongside overall GPA. Additionally, students' broader achievements, such as community service and involvement in school and extracurricular activities, are considered.
A total of 70 students were honored at the luncheon, which also saw the presence of THS Assistant Principal Greg Dolson, representing the district. Students received certificates, and their notable achievements were shared with attendees. The seating arrangement at the luncheon ensured that students from each school were seated separately, fostering camaraderie among attendees and throughout the conference.
Congratulations to Ashley, Ethan, Bella, Aidan, and Seamus, and may success accompany them in all their future endeavors!
