In an exciting and educational adventure, anatomy and biology students from Shelley Collins’ class at Tecumseh High School recently delved into the intricacies of the human body at the Real Bodies Exhibition at the Sloan Museum of Discovery in Flint.
Situated within the heart of the Flint Cultural Center, the Sloan Museum of Discovery is a nonprofit public institution dedicated to hands-on, interactive learning experiences. Boasting four primary galleries, the museum offers a diverse range of exhibits, including a hands-on earth sciences hall, an early childhood learning gallery, a local history gallery spotlighting Genesee County and the Flint area, and a sprawling 11,000 square-foot vehicle gallery showcasing rare and historic vehicles built in Genesee County.
The highlight of the students’ visit was the Real Bodies exhibit, a captivating display perfectly aligned with their anatomy and physiology curriculum. As the exhibit concluded on January 14th, students were treated to an up-close exploration of real human bodies, gaining profound insights into their intricate functions – from blood vessels to bones.
