At Tecumseh Public Schools, we prioritize meeting the unique needs of our students without being defined by labels. Our commitment is to a student-centered approach, ensuring that every student, including those with special needs, receives the necessary support for success. Our focus revolves around core educational practices, fostering collaboration among educators and support staff to address each student’s educational requirements, irrespective of labels.
Special education at TPS, in collaboration with the Lenawee Intermediate School District, entails tailored instruction to empower students with special needs to achieve their fullest potential. In compliance with Michigan Law, we provide a continuum of special education programs and services for school-age students who receive Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) outlining customized education plans for success.
The Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) define eligibility for special education services within 13 categories of disability.
