Tecumseh Public Schools is very proud of the care given to its eight locations by the district custodial/maintenance team. The team is responsible for cleaning and maintaining approximately 600,000 square feet of buildings on a daily basis.

Along with the daily maintenance of each building, the custodial/maintenance department is also in charge of maintaining 170 acres of the district’s grounds, consisting of lawns, playgrounds, and ten athletic fields. Also included in this work are the parking lots, sidewalks, and drives that must be kept clear of snow and ice during the winter months.

The summer months are an important and also demanding time for the custodial/maintenance team. During this time period, each of the district’s facilities is thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom and all floor surfaces are shampooed or refinished. It is also a time in which the maintenance department can go through each room to make any necessary repairs and to check to see that all mechanical equipment is functioning properly.

Our monthly scheduled pest control applications will occur on the second Wednesday of each month throughout the school year.
